Mondas is strengthening its management team for the company’s continued development: Starting September 1, Dr. Markus Forstmeier will join the leadership team. The experienced executive brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy and cleantech sectors and succeeds Volkmar Boerner, who is stepping down from the management team.
With Dr. Markus Forstmeier, Mondas is gaining a Managing Director with extensive technical, strategic, and commercial experience in the energy industry. Together with Christian Reetz and Andreas Pfaff, he will manage the Freiburg-based software company.
Most recently, Markus Forstmeier served as Business Development Officer at European cleantech investor InnoEnergy. In this role, he supported young technology companies in initiating pilot projects and securing their first commercial contracts in the DACH region. Prior to that, he held various leadership positions at well-known companies in the energy and industrial sectors, including H-TEC SYSTEMS, Siemens, and General Electric.
Looking ahead to his new role at Mondas, Forstmeier says: “Mondas has an excellent technology platform and a strong, experienced team. At the same time, the market for intelligent energy systems offers significant growth potential. I look forward to contributing my experience in the energy industry and business development and to shaping the next phase of Mondas together with the team.”
His goals include consolidating Mondas’ successful development and further accelerating the company’s growth. Markus Forstmeier can draw on his many years of experience in developing new business areas as well as his in-depth knowledge of the energy and cleantech markets in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Dr. Markus Forstmeier earned his doctorate in process and plant engineering from Technische Universität Berlin. He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Augsburg and the University of Pittsburgh.
A smooth transition in the management team
Markus Forstmeier succeeds Volkmar Boerner, who has decided to step down from the management team after many years in this role. Boerner will continue to support Mondas as an advisor.
