Data Acquisition, Visualization and Evaluation
Efficient energy management begins with the recording, visualization and analysis of the current energy consumption of the properties. Aggregated consumption as well as load profiles of e.g. electricity and heat are analyzed. This is followed by an energy-saving concept, which also includes possible supply strategies via combined heat and power plants (CHP) or solar thermal systems, as well as statements on the optimal mode of operation of these systems.
During the subsequent energy controlling, the targets are checked and corrected if necessary.
Troubleshooting Often Time Consuming
The most important foundation for successful energy management and energy controlling is a solid data basis. The data of the properties should therefore be available in as much detail as possible. In practice, however, the quality of such records varies widely, even in the age of Industry 4.0 and Big Data. In one case, extensive Excel lists are available with component-specific daily values of power consumption and performance. In the other case, there are only handwritten notes from the caretaker. The evaluation and correct interpretation of the collected figures therefore use to require a lot of time and can only be carried out by experts, who usually form characteristic values and can thus identify target deviations in energy consumption. Even then, the faulty components are rarely detected accurately. An arduous search for clues begins. Re-measurements may even be necessary. This costs time and money. In contrast, energy management and energy controlling can also be organized much more thoroughly and at the same time more cost-effectively with the help of IoT.

Monitoring with Innovative Web Tool
The mondas® IoT platform provides a cost-effective web tool. Industrial companies, property owners and municipalities can use it for cost-effective energy management.
Time series data of the HVAC systems are collected and evaluated via an IP connection. Mondas® energy monitoring can also be used to accurately determine the operating status of individual components.
AI algorithms in the software recognize consumption patterns. If a fault or critical operating condition is detected, the operator receives an alarm message associated with a qualified assessment. Plant optimization measures can be implemented quickly and efficiently.
Defective components can be replaced quickly before users experience any noticeable loss of quality. Energy wasters in the building are tracked down in a targeted manner.
The mondas® IoT platform also provides good decision support for designing cost-optimized savings plans. By evaluating the time series data, it is also possible to see the general condition of the equipment. Facility managers and operators can make a decision on the sequence of actions. The IoT platform provides important information in this regard.
